Mid-November through early January, illuminated nightly Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands & Queen Victoria Park
Canada's largest free outdoor light festival transforms the Niagara Parkway into a glowing 8-kilometre route of millions of lights and larger-than-life displays, anchored by the illuminated Falls themselves.
You can drive the route, but the Dufferin Islands section rewards a slow walk — it's where the most elaborate displays cluster and where kids (and photographers) linger longest.
Realtor's Local Tip
Go on a weeknight in early December before the holiday crowds peak, and start from the Dufferin Islands end. Locals in the south end of Niagara Falls essentially get this in their backyard for two months a year.
